I had the pleasure of photographing "BP" for this CD Cover, as well as "MC" for the "LIVE" CD Recording at the world famous LONGHORN BALLROOM on December 25, 1999, the last time I saw Johnnie Taylor alive before he died.

"Bobby Patterson is all the way live"

- Cheryl Smith

Bobby Patterson Live at the Longhorn Ballroom, released on Proud Records, is all the way live. Lovers of the Blues will enjoy this Blues Fest from the historic Longhorn, where the likes of Little Milton, Bobby "Blue" Bland. Millie Jackson, the ? and a host of others have performed.

Live at the Longhorn Ballroom was recorded on December 25, 1999, and the late, great Johnnie Taylor was in the house, even taking to the stage at one point and to the delight of the packed audience. They were cheering then and listeners to this live production will enjoy hearing the legend in that impromptu appearance.

More than the good times are rolling as Patterson delivers a stirring performance on every cut, interacting with the audience between and during each song.

He asks the question, "Do you feel it?"

Well, you can't help but feel "Let the Good Times Roll". You know Patterson is feeling it and he makes you feel it too.

The he slows it down with "Right Place at the Wrong Time," breaks it down and almost moves you to tears, that is until he interjects, ""If I'm lying, I'll kiss a crippled cricket!"

This CD would not be complete without the dynamic KAYE FULLYLVE of Soul 73 KKDA-AM, as the mistress of ceremonies, keeping the crowd hyped. The woman is a lady.

A must-have for blues lovers, Patterson has also released Back Out Here Again, featuring "Nobody Knows Me Like My Baby" and "Must Be the Hood in Me", there is also my personal favorite, "You Can't Take the Truth Out of the Blues".

Listen to KKDA-AM weekdays from 9 a.m. until noon and hear Patterson. Pay special attention to any announcements of future appearances because you will want to be in attendance.

But in the meantime, enjoy the CD!
