Kaye Fullyl♥ve is a "Down Home BLUES" girl.  Blessed to have been born on November 28th, in Sherman, Texas, (approximately 65 miles north of Dallas, Texas).  “From the age of 10 when my mother 'Dolly' gave me my first 45-‘My Girl’ by The Temptations, ('ebonically' speaking “it didn’t get "no" better than David Ruffin"), I knew that "MUSIC" would be my claim to fame, at least a good start, I just knew it, that was an inspiring moment for me as a 10 year old".

It was not until some 3 years later that I would see my dream start to develop.  I was in Denver, Colorado on a summer visit with my Aunt 'Joan' and her family.  On a Sunday afternoon, everyone went to the City Park. KBPI "RADIO" was in the airwaves everywhere, I immediately focused on the young Disc Jockey on the airwaves and he was smooth and suave.  His name was "Birdman", he was 19 and I was 13, I had my first "puppy love" crush or whatever you wanted to call it, "I HAD IT", and so did every other young girl that he appealed to.  It was my first time paying attention to a Disc Jockey on the "RADIO" and listening because I liked the way the "DJ" sounded.

The next night, Monday night at a club called 'Up Jump The Devil' a gentleman performing to a packed house by the name of 'Tyrone Davis' whose 45 at the time was burning up the charts entitled 'Can I Change My Mind'.  I didn’t meet 'Tyrone Davis' until over some 30 years later in 1999 at The World Famous 'Longhorn Ballroom' here in Dallas, Texas, when I first made my return to the airwaves on Soul 73 KKDA-AM.

I met 'Birdman' at the 'Tyrone Davis' show that night, he asked me to dance, and I just went spellbound.  But it didn’t take long for reality to sit in, because my Aunt 'Joan' reminded him that I was 13 and that I was chaperoned by her to the show along with my brother 'Terry' and her son 'Joe'.  It still didn’t stop me from having my girly torch for him like so many others had for him, that's  a 'Dee Jay' THANG.

It was some 30 years before I would ever talk to 'Birdman' again.  He was elated to know that he had been the one indirectly to inspire me to pursue my "RADIO" career.

Like I said, I knew music would be my claim to fame one day.  When I came back from Denver, the Radio bug had bit me and bit me good.  I had a passion for "RADIO" from that point on.  My family thought I was literally crazy because I would always call up Soul Sockin' 73- KKDA-AM and win prizes or either just to request a song "LIVE" on the air.  But I always knew what I "WANTED" out of "RADIO".

My 'RADIO' journey in the clubs.  I was a 'Dee Jay' in the clubs in 1976.  That was a time when females were almost unheard of as 'DJ's.  I could literally walk into any club and tell them that I was a 'DJ' and they would let me sit in for a few spins.  And to their surprise they told me they thought I was good.  I must have had something working for me at the time because it got the attention of my mentor-THEN  and NOW-Mr. Chuck Smith.  He gave me my first break in 1976 and again in 1998.

Just to get on the air is an accomplishment within itself, some folks never "DO" what they "WANT" to "DO"-they "DO" what they "HAVE" to "DO", and be miserable.  Not me. "I’M DOIN' MY OWN THANG".

When KKDA-AM-Soul Sockin’ 73 first came on the air in 1969-1970, I was there as a listener first.  Little did I know that I would actually be on the air there one day, but here I am.  The first ones to be on the air Disc Jockeys (at the time that’s what people called them-"DJ’s", was Bill Mack-(Mornings), Tony Price-(Mid-Days) and the "Super Chuck" Smith-(Afternoons).  That was the avenue for me to pursue my "RADIO" career.

It wasn’t until 1976-1977, that I actually had my debut opportunity to be on the now powerhouse "RADIO" station in Dallas, Texas-KKDA-FM (K104).  It may be hard for you to believe, that’s 'FACTUAL'.  I was there from the pioneering and building stages.  Soul 73 KKDA-AM gave birth to the "DAUGHTER" station (not the "SISTER" station as "RADIO" terminology would have it) K104-KKDA-FM.  I love it here at Soul 73 KKDA-AM.  It has been one of the greatest joys of my life, not only to be able to talk on the "RADIO", but to actually get a second chance at the same place.  Who says lightning doesn’t strike twice?  It did for me, thanks to The "RADIO" Legend Mr. Chuck Smith.  He was the one that recognized that this is what I wanted to do. And the fact that he gave me the opportunity to do it not once, but twice, is overwhelming.  1976 and 1998.  Thank you "Super Chuck".

I do feel blessed to be doing what I want to so that I can communicate with people, I’m a people person, I attract all types of people to me, my listeners are very important to me, I wouldn't have an audience if it were not for them.  Some of my listeners have grown with me through the years and I do appreciate them. That’s also what this is all about, without the people, there’s no "RADIO" or me.  So I thank you Soul 73 KKDA-AM Family & Friends.
